This page explains how to use and configure KanaFlow.
Usage
How to use KanaFlow
- Choose which writing system to practice in, Hiragana or Katakana.
- Choose 1–4 character variants to include in the questions. Each variant of a character will appear once throughout the quiz.
- Choose the exercise type:
- Translate: Choose the Romanji (pronunciation) for the provided Kana character.
- Identify: The opposite of Translate. Choose the Kana character for the given Romanji.
- Match: Match the Kana to the character of the other writing system. For example, if the source is
あ(Hiragana), the correct answer isア(Katakana). The source is based on your original Hiragana/Katakana choice.
- Choose your desired exercise length.
- Press "Start" to begin. Questions are shown in random order. Answer them one at a time until the quiz ends.
- You can review any missed questions after completing the exercise.
Configuration
How to configure KanaFlow
- Sound: Toggle app sounds to enable or disable correct/incorrect answer sound effects during the quiz.
- Haptics: Toggle app haptic feedback when interacting with buttons.
- Appearance: Choose between light mode, dark mode, or automatic mode which follows your device settings.
